Obsessive and Hyperactive Dogs
Digging, chewing, attention seeking, licking, barking, tail chasing, ball obsessions?
With any type of dog behaviour there comes a time when it becomes obsessive.
Hyper activity can show itself in many different ways. Excessive digging, chewing, attention seeking, following you around like crazy are just some of the many obsessive activities that a dog can start to display. Often you can almost see it in the dogs face that it is not fun activity but a job that they are enduring, almost driving them insane. Ask yourself this question, does my dog seems to have found itself a job to do? The dogs answer is most likely "yes and I don't want to do it for the rest of my life!"
It often amazes me how quickly these dogs will calm down when I arrive and give them the message that they no longer have to be on guard. That is when you will see the real character of your dog coming out and you realise that actually your dog would love to sleep more during the day and relax! I have visited homes where hyperactive and obsessive dogs have slept for the entire 4 hours in their beds right through the consultation and their dinners.
I love it when owners see their dog asleep, and say "I do not believe that! He never relaxes like that, especially with a stranger in the house!"
When you show your dog that it doesn't need to do a job, then it can start to enjoy life and relax. I would love to show you how, it's really not that hard.

Juno the calm
Less intrusive and more relaxed….
Thanks Dan," Juno"is slowly realising that shes not head of house! anymore. I wish we'd be in contact with you along time ago. The difference in her in just a couple of weeks is great.
We all now stick to the same guidelines and it works.
She is calmer, less intrusive and more relaxed. Thanks for this and the tip for keeping her out the kitchen – it works!
One happy family and dog!!

Rockie relaxes now like a dog
Hyperactive, licking walls, barking
Doggy Dan,
Before you came to help with Rockie she was a very anxious and over active puppy. This may sound like a normal problem but it got to the point where she was licking the walls, chasing the bugs all night long and barking at everything that moved past the window. The only time she slept was when she was totally exhausted and even then she would jump awake at any noise. Basically, Rockie couldn't relax so neither could I.
Even during your visit I could see Rockie starting to react differently until she just quietly sat down, gave a big sigh of relief and then just sat there, relaxed.
After all the training and techniques that you taught me, I am able to get Rockie to calm back down and relax again if she gets over excited.
Rockie and I are very thankful for the help you gave us both. We are now able to enjoy each others company in a relaxed and friendly matter.
Its also great to see her actually relaxing around other dogs something she never used to do,
Thanks Doggy Dan
